GACE® Paraprofessional Assessment
The test is available again for a limited time.
We will be able to provide the GACE Parapro Test through the month of November.
Due to a change in testing providers, we will not be able to provide it starting December 2022.
- We strongly recommend wearing a mask while in the building
- You must arrive 20 minutes prior to your appointment time- no late check-ins will be allowed
- You must prepay the registration fee through Paypal- no exchange of money/credit cards will be allowed the day of the training
- You must maintain 6 feet or more of social distancing while in the RESA building
- Hand sanitizer will be available in the training room and at the registration desk
If you are sick or running a fever, please reschedule your appointment- let us know and you will receive a refund.
If your appointment time is cancelled due to further restrictions due to Covid-19, you will receive a refund. If you are unable to attend due to other conflicts, please notify us within 7 days of the parapro to receive a refund. If you do not show up, we will not be able to issue a refund.
If you did not prepay through Paypal, you will not be able to take the test.
About the GACE® Paraprofessional Assessment
What Is It?
The GACE® Paraprofessional (test code 177) assessment measures the skills and knowledge in reading, writing, and math possessed by prospective and practicing paraprofessionals. It also measures their ability to apply those skills and knowledge when assisting in classroom instruction.
Who Takes It?
This assessment is taken by prospective and practicing paraprofessionals to demonstrate that they are knowledgeable in reading, writing, and math, and that they are capable of assisting in classroom instruction.
How Long Is It?
Test takers have 2½ hours to complete the assessment.
What Subjects Are Covered?
Subjects include reading, writing, and math.
What Are the Questions Like?
The test has 90 selected-response questions, approximately two-thirds of which focus on basic skills and knowledge. The remaining one-third focuses on applying skills in the classroom. All test questions are in English.
How Is the Assessment Given?
The Paraprofessional assessment is given in a computer-delivered format.
The Paraprofessional exam is given most Thursdays at 9:00 am and 12:00 pm. Some dates in February and March will be on Wednesdays. Please note the day of the week you are registering for when you register.
There is a $65.00 fee- CASH (CORRECT AMOUNT ONLY) or Credit/Debit ONLY - no checks. You can pay online during registration using PayPal or pay the day of the test. Billing is not an option for the GACE. Be here at least 20 minutes before your appointment time. You must bring a form of identification. Accepted forms of identification are: Drivers License with photograph and signature.
Once you have completed the test, you will be given an unofficial score report. Many schools/systems will use the unofficial score report as proof that you have passed the test. The official test results will be sent to the address you choose within a week.
**IF YOU DO NOT PASS THERE IS A 28 DAY WAITING PERIOD BEFORE YOU CAN TAKE THE TEST AGAIN.**

The test contains 90 questions and you will be allowed three hours to complete the test.
