"Excellence in Educational Support"

Please join us for our next Counselors’ Consortium Meeting!

It is our honor to be hosting Dr. Andrew Roach from Georgia State University.  He will be speaking to us on Mindfulness Training in schools.  Dr. Andrew Roach is Associate Director of the Center for Leadership in Disability (CLD) — a University Center for Excellence in Disability (UCEDD) at Georgia State University.

Dr. Roach’s many specialties include Mindfulness Training – a somewhat controversial approach to addressing stressors for both teachers and students.  It involves meditation, breathing, and oftentimes yoga and allows those involved to be focused on their thoughts and feelings without being consumed by them.

Demystifying Georgia Milestones
Have questions about Georgia Milestones?  This workshop is designed to answer those questions, help educators understand the test development process, who is involved, and how the results can be used to reflect on instructional practice.  What resources are available for schools and classroom teachers?  How are items written?  How are student responses scored?  And just how does one make sense of the test results?  No need to bring your number two pencil – just bring your questions and your district, school, or class score reports.

AUDIENCE:  District and School Administrators

While the 2018 CCRPI may or may not have been released yet, how can districts and schools use (or plan to use) the information from the new CCRPI to inform their work?  This session will give some practical suggestions for taking a different look at your district’s or school’s data to identify potential areas of focus and identify next steps.  Participants should bring their Georgia Milestones Content Area Summary Reports along with any other local achievement data that can help illuminate trends.
